HEALTH LITERACY FOR SENIORS

Why join this program?

Health Literacy for Seniors is a high-impact program focused on bringing health education and meaningful interaction to older adults in our community. Through weekly visits to senior centers across Tampa Bay, our volunteers lead engaging, accessible, and empowering sessions that blend wellness education with fun activities.

Our activities blend important health topics with interactive, creative formats. We’ve hosted Aromatherapy Workshops that explore the calming benefits of essential oils, and our Paint-a-Pot & Grow-a-Plant Workshops combine mental wellness education with a relaxing, nature-based activity that seniors can keep, along with many others.

This program isn’t just about delivering information — it’s about building relationships, reducing loneliness, and making health feel approachable at any age. As a volunteer, you’ll gain valuable communication skills, firsthand experience in community health education, and the reward of making a tangible difference in someone’s life.

If you're passionate about healthcare, enjoy connecting with others, and want to make a real impact right here in your community, Health Literacy for Seniors is the perfect place to start.
