our first annual mind to matter competition challenges middle and high school students to tackle real-world health issues. Working in teams, you’ll research a health problem, design an innovative product, and pitch your idea to a panel of experts—competing for awards, mentorship, and the opportunity to make a real impact in healthcare.

GET STARTED

step 1

Gather 3–5 students from your school or community.

Choose teammates who share your passion for solving health challenges and can bring different strengths to the table.

Requirements: All team members must be middle or high school students (ages 11–18).

Download and read our Competition Rules and Guidelines PDF to learn about the health challenge, rules, judging criteria, and resources to help you get started.

step 3

Complete your online application—this doubles as your first-round submission. Share your initial idea, team details, and why your solution matters.

Application due October 3rd, 2025 at 11:59 PM.

COMPETITION STAGES

  • STAGE 1: Apply & Get Selected

    Form a team of 3–5 students and create a basic proposal for your health-focused idea.

    Application Deadline: October 3rd

    Selected teams will be notified by October 10th.

  • STAGE 2: Develop Your Solution

    If selected from Stage 1, you’ll continue developing your pitch and product with your team.

    Once finalized, submit your completed project by March 27th.

    Selected teams for the final round will be notified by April 3rd.

  • STAGE 3: FINAL PITCH

    April 18: In-Person Final Pitch and Awards Ceremony

    Present your solution to our panel of judges and compete for top prizes.

    • Best Pitch – awarded to the team with the most compelling presentation.

    • Best Innovation – awarded to the team with the most creative and impactful solution.

    • Best Research – awarded to the team demonstrating exceptional evidence-based work.

    • Community Impact Award – awarded to the team whose solution shows the greatest potential to benefit their community.
